Please join your respective sessions only.

Orientation Week is planned to welcome and facilitate the incoming batch of students at the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). The program provides newly admitted students with a comprehensive introduction to the Institute's academic, residential, administrative, and student-life environment.

What to Expect:

  • Complete essential registration formalities
  • Interact with faculty and departmental leadership
  • Become familiar with Institute facilities and services
  • Participate in social and recreational activities

The week-long program will be coordinated by the Orientation Week Student Body in collaboration with relevant academic, administrative, residential, transport, security, and student-affairs offices.

How to Get to PIEAS

PIEAS is located in Nilore, roughly 25 km from Islamabad's main city. Tap any option below to open the full guide for your assigned orientation day:

The university is arranging pickup transport for incoming students from selective points in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Boarding points, bus numbers, and timings for Day 1 and Day 2 registration are listed below.

  • Be at your boarding point at least 10–15 minutes before departure.
  • Seats are typically limited and allocated on a first-come basis.

CDA (Capital Development Authority) buses also connect Islamabad to Nilore, and are a budget-friendly option for students not using private or university transport.

  • Route FR-08B (Khanna Pul to Nilore): Runs from Khanna Pul directly down Lehtrar Road toward Nilore, dropping passengers off near the main Nilore area close to the institute.
  • Route FR-08A / FR-08C (PIMS/Faizabad to Tramri Chowk via Park Road): A highly frequent electric bus service that drops you off at Tramri Chowk or COMSATS University. From there, local vans, commercial buses, or ride-hailing services run directly up Lehtrar Road to PIEAS.
  • Check the current route map for the service running toward Nilore, as routes and timings are updated periodically.
  • Fares are paid on boarding or via the applicable transport card, depending on the route.
  • Public bus schedules can run irregularly, so allow extra travel time if you plan to arrive this way.

Drive via the Islamabad Expressway toward Nilore, following signage for PIEAS. Enter campus through Gate 3 (Main Entrance), where security will ask you to present your admission offer letter and CNIC for verification.

  • Keep your offer letter and original CNIC easily accessible for the gate check — this speeds up entry considerably.
  • Vehicles without an official PIEAS security sticker undergo a routine inspection.
  • Parents/Guardians ID cards are collected and later returned on departure.
  • Campus speed limit is 20 km/h, and there's no overnight parking in non-designated areas.

InDrive and Yango are the most reliable rideshare options for reaching campus, and both will drop you off right at Gate 3 — there's no need to walk in from the main turn.

  • Set your destination as "Barrier 3, PIEAS, Nilore" when booking, rather than just "Nilore," to avoid confusion with the wider area.
  • Have your admission offer letter and CNIC ready — security at Gate 3 may ask to see them even for rideshare arrivals.
  • Indrive and Yango are not allowed beyond Gate 3,PIEAS shuttle will pick students up from barrier 3 to auditorium .

Tip: Whichever way you arrive, all registration and onboarding steps take place in the Dr. Inam-Ur-Rehman Auditorium after you check in at Gate 3.

Students join in two groups. On your assigned day, please complete the following registration activities at the Dr. Inam-Ur-Rehman Auditorium between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM:

  • Enter via Gate #3 (Main Entrance) and present admission offer letter and CNIC.
  • Vehicles without official security sticker must undergo routine inspection and collect a temporary visitor slip.
  • Campus speed limit is 20 km/h. No overnight parking in non-designated areas.

Islamabad & Nilore

  • PIEAS is located in Nilore, ~25 km from Islamabad main city.
  • Local rideshare options (InDrive, Yango) operate to Nilore main turn.
  • Nilore Bazaar (pharmacies and general stores) is 5 minutes walking distance from Gate 3.
  • PIEAS Medical Center operates 24/7 on campus for emergencies.

Weather & Climate

  • Expected September temperatures in Nilore range between 22°C to 34°C.
  • Mornings and evenings are pleasant; late afternoons can be humid.
  • Pack breathable cotton attire along with light layers for cooler nights.

Packing Tips

  • Bring 2 extra formal outfits for the Orientation.
  • Carry an umbrella / raincoat for occasional monsoon rains.
  • Bring comfortable walking shoes for inter-department travel.
  • Keep a pocket notebook and water bottle during registration.

Mobile Network & Internet

  • Only Ufone SIMs have reliable signal on campus — other networks may not work in Nilore.
  • Internet connectivity will be provided to students on campus.
